Farmers across India, including those from Assam, along with officials and staff of the State Agriculture Department, will join the programme virtually to witness the rollout of this landmark initiative.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farming families receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). In this 20th installment, over 20.31 lakh eligible farmer families in Assam are expected to receive the benefits.
Launched on February 24, 2019, PM-KISAN is one of the world’s largest DBT schemes, aimed at providing direct financial support to farmers to help meet their agricultural needs and improve productivity.
