GUWAHATI: The police arrested several people on various charges like drug trafficking and theft cases today. Dispur police searched a dump yard belonging to a person, Sahidul Islam, at ABC and recovered five bell metal bowls, one brass glass, three large aluminium saucepans, three pressure cookers, a large aluminium gumla, 17 pieces of copper wire, two gas stoves, etc.
Basistha Police arrested a thief, Sukur Ali, while stealing iron rods from the Behabari area. The police seized 25 kg of iron from his possession.
Basistha police also raided a hideout at Saokuchi and arrested two drug peddlers - Ashidur Islam (28) and Saran Roy. The police sieved 6.937 kg of ganja from them.
Bharalumukh police arrested two drug peddlers - Ibrahim Ali and Kuran Ali - both hailing from Barpeta from Kumarpara in Guwahati. The police arrested 14 vials of heroin weighing 19.1 grams from their possession.
