GUWAHATI: In an effort to combat the war against drugs, Guwahati police have increased their efforts to apprehend peddlers. The police arrested a drug peddler with a huge quantity of cannabis from the Garigaon area on Saturday night.
According to sources, an operation was carried out by the Jalukbari police in the Garigaon area, where the team arrested the peddler identified as Biki Choudhury. However, after receiving information about the operation, the father of the peddler fled from the scene. It may be mentioned that Biki Choudhury has been arrested in relation to allegations of drug peddling.
The police have lodged a case for further investigation.
