Guwahati: Railway Protection Force Catch Wrongdoer from Awadh Assam Express Train

GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended a suspected wrongdoer from the Awadh Assam Express train on January 20, 2025, in Guwahati Railway Station. The RPF was escorting the train when they caught the dragger in the Front GS coach after departing from Narengi. The apprehended individual, identified as Nathuni Sahani, a 64-year-old resident of Bihar, was found with incriminating articles. Furthermore, a semi-unconscious passenger was discovered in the same coach, suspected to have been drugged by Sahani. The passenger was rushed to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for treatment.

After thorough interrogation, Sahani was primarily suspected of drugging the victim passenger. Notably, Sahani had been previously arrested at New Tinsukia Junction (NTSK) in a TopB case. In connection with this incident, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Government Railway Police (GRP) Guwahati registered a case (No. 12/25) under various sections of the law.
