Guwahati: The Rashtriya Hindu Front (RHF) has once again urged the Central Government to enact a stringent population control law, citing the need for sustainable development and national welfare. Addressing the media, the Front reiterated its long-standing demand, which it has been raising for the past 13 years.
RHF state president stated, “We have been advocating for a strict population control law for years. If immediate steps are not taken, the growing population will pose severe challenges for future generations.” He cautioned that unchecked growth could lead to communal imbalances and strain national resources. He further emphasized that the issue goes beyond religion and community, stressing that “population control is a national concern and must be addressed collectively.” He called on citizens and organizations from all backgrounds to unite in support of this cause.
The press conference was attended by vice president Bijay Barman, Women’s Wing Chief Geetika Gohain, and several youth leaders. The Front announced plans to observe World Population Day on July 5 by submitting a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro), urging action on the matter. The organization has appealed to all communities and political groups to come together and support the demand for a national-level population control law, which they argue is vital for the country’s progress and future stability.
