Guwahati Refinery Donates Waste Vans to Darrang District Administration

Guwahati Refinery under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives today handed over three waste collection vans to Darrang District administration.

Guwahati: In a significant step towards promoting a cleaner environment and improving public health, Guwahati Refinery under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives today handed over three waste collection vans to Darrang District administration. The vehicles are meant for use by Sipajhar Municipal Board, Kharupetia Municipal Board and Mangaldoi Municipal Board.

A formal handover ceremony was held at the office of the District Commissioner of Darrang, where the specially designed vans each with 2.5 cubic metre capacity and separate compartments for wet and dry waste were presented to the Chairpersons of the respective Municipal Boards.

The vans were handed over by Sunil Kanti, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Guwahati Refinery in the presence of Basanta Das, MLA of Mangaldoi Legislative Assembly Constituency, Paramananda Rajbongshi, MLA of Sipajhar Legislative Assembly Constituency, Parag Kumar Kakaty, ACS, District Commissioner of Darrang, Hitajit Bhattacharyya, CGM (HR) along with officials from both the refinery and district administration.

The initiative aimed at strengthening waste management infrastructure across the three municipal areas was widely appreciated by the local representatives and district officials. The MLAs lauded Guwahati Refinery for its proactive role in supporting grassroots governance and contributing towards sustainable cleanliness and public hygiene in the region, stated a press release.
