GUWAHATI: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of Guwahati has opened a window for public feedback on the proposed ban on e-rickshaws in 56 locations across the city. This move comes after concerns were raised by daily commuters and e-rickshaw operators, who fear the impact of the ban on urban mobility and livelihoods.

Individuals likely to be affected by the prohibition can submit their objections or suggestions in writing. The RTA has provided multiple channels for submission, including email to dtosecyrta40@gmail.com, in-person submission, or by post to the Office of the District Transport Officer & Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Kamrup (Metropolitan), Betkuchi, Guwahati, and Pin-781040.

The deadline for submissions is 15 days from the notice’s publication date in newspapers. The proposed ban targets major commuting hubs like Fancy Bazar, Bhetapara, and GMCH, prompting worries about the city’s transportation infrastructure.
