GUWAHATI: The Srimanta Sankardeva Award Ceremony, which is a prestigious event, will be held on April 25 at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati, with President Droupadi Murmu as the chief guest. The ceremony is a landmark for Assam, paying tribute to the contributions of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.
Before the ceremony, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota carried out a detailed inspection at the venue on the instructions of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The inspection covered several logistic details such as arrangements for dignitaries, crowd control, and traffic arrangements to make sure that the event goes on smoothly and never loses sight of the rich heritage of Sankardeva.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office said that the Chief Secretary conducted extensive talks with stakeholders to build an atmosphere which reflects the cultural and spiritual significance of Srimanta Sankardeva. Sankardeva, a saint, scholar, and reformer, continues to reverberate his presence in the socio-cultural fabric of Assam, and the ceremony is an effort to offer a tribute to his enduring legacy.
Representatives of several government departments have pledged to collaborate in making the event a success, underscoring the sense of collective responsibility in paying tribute to one of Assam's most iconic spiritual leaders. As the deadline nears, efforts are gathering pace to stage an unforgettable celebration of the rich legacy and values connected with Srimanta Sankardeva.
