Guwahati: An East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Dispur Police Station made a breakthrough in a bike theft investigation by arresting one Rahim Ali, a resident of Tulsibari in Kokrajhar. The arrest was made from the Khanapara area. In a follow-up operation, the team, with assistance from Meghalaya Police, proceeded to Patharkhmah in Ri Bhoi district, Meghalaya. There, they arrested another accused, Baharul Islam of Baghbar. During the operation, three stolen two-wheelers were recovered from Baharul’s possession. The recovered vehicles include a Scooty (AS01DT1448) reported stolen from Rukminigaon, a Hero Glamour motorcycle without registration stolen from Hatigaon, and a Bajaj Pulsar (AS01DE0159), also stolen from Hatigaon. Legal action has been initiated against both individuals.
