Guwahati: In a series of successful operations, the Guwahati Police have made significant breakthroughs in multiple theft-related cases across the city.
A team from Jalukbari Police Station apprehended Chandan Kumar Baruah (34) of Azara, the prime accused in an ongoing theft case. Three stolen LPG cylinders were recovered from his possession. Legal proceedings have been initiated. In a separate operation, the same Jalukbari team cracked a major bike theft case with the arrest of two accused, Dibyajyoti Saikia (26) from Kamalabari and Joy Gogoi (40) from Titabar. Two stolen Royal Enfield motorcycles were recovered during the operation. Meanwhile, another team from Basistha Police Station arrested Vishal Acharjee (23) of Adagudam. He was found in possession of a stolen Honda Activa (registration number AS01BD2195) and a Redmi handset. The scooty, reportedly stolen from AT Road earlier this year, was used in multiple snatching incidents. Legal action has been initiated in all cases.
