Guwahati: The Guwahati Traffic Police, in coordination with local police stations, has launched a drive to remove illegal rickshaws, handcarts, and pushcarts from various parts of the city.
This move comes under the direct supervision of the Commissioner of Police, aiming to ensure better traffic management and pedestrian convenience. The police have urged vendors and rickshaw pullers to comply with regulations and relocate to designated vending zones to avoid any inconvenience
Furthermore, local authorities have sought full cooperation from the general public in this initiative. Officials have stated that the campaign will continue in a systematic manner, with traffic police and local police stations working together to identify and remove unauthorized carts and rickshaws.
The administration has assured that necessary arrangements will be made for legal vendors to operate smoothly within the city.
