GUWAHATI: A woman from Uttar Pradesh was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Guwahati. The deceased, identified as Sangita Nishad, was found inside her residence. According to police, Sangita had married Rajesh Kevat of Uttar Pradesh on March 7. However, on June 2, her lifeless body was recovered from her home in a suspicious condition. According to sources, although originally from Uttar Pradesh, Sangita and her husband lived in Guwahati, where Rajesh Kevat is employed with APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Limited). Following the news of Sangita’s death, her family members travelled from Uttar Pradesh to Guwahati. They alleged that Sangita was mentally harassed by her husband and his family ever since the marriage. The deceased family said that on the morning of her death, Sangita reportedly had a phone conversation with her brother, during which she expressed a desire to return to her mother’s home. The family suspects that her death may be a case of murder. As a result, they have lodged a formal complaint (FIR) against Rajesh Kevat and his family at the Bhangagarh Police Station.
