Guwahati: Workshop on the use of Brajawali to be held in November

The workshop on the use of Brajawali will be in November at Guwahati in collaboration with the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Society.

GUWAHATI: The society for Srimanta Sankaradeva (SSS) and Parampara Pravah, two organizations which have been spearheading a movement for the propagation of the Srimanta Sankaradeva legacy, have decided to organize a workshop on the use of Brajawali, as it is important for the Sankari culture. The workshop will be in November at Guwahati in collaboration with the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Society. International Council for Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), North East region will associate with it. It is to mention that earlier it was decided to hold in July. The new dates of the workshop are 20th and 21st November.

Dr Basanta Kumar Goswami, an eminent linguist and former general secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr Mukul Chakraborty, Professor, Gauhati University and Kanaklal Das, the writer are resource persons of the workshop.

As decided at the annual general meeting of the Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva under the presidentship of Dr Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti, president of SSS, the workshop will be coordinated by the vice president of SSS and Director of Parampara Pravah Dr Mallika Kandali with assistance from Dr Madhuchanda Chaliha Bhuyan, vice president; Anjana Tamuli assistant secretary and Dr Buljit Buragohain, media in-charge of SSS, a press release said.
