GUWAHATI: Popular Assamese singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg was hospitalised on Wednesday evening after experiencing chest pain and nausea during the premiere of the Assamese film, Bhaimon Da, in Guwahati. The incident occurred while he was attending the screening alongside noted physician Dr. Hitesh Baruah.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Baruah shared details of the incident. “Yesterday evening, I, along with Zubeen, had gone to watch the premiere of the Assamese film Bhaimon Da when he complained of chest pain and a vomiting sensation. I immediately took him to the hospital,” he said.

Following a thorough medical examination, doctors diagnosed Zubeen with a serious gastric issue, which was identified as the cause of his discomfort. Fortunately, his condition has been declared stable, and there is no cause for major concern.

“He is fine as of now. He will be discharged after a brief medical test and examination,” Dr. Baruah confirmed, reassuring fans and well-wishers of the singer’s recovery.
