GUWAHATI: In a historic milestone for Assam and the Northeast, the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium in Guwahati has been announced as India’s 30th test cricket venue. The stadium will host its first-ever Test match during the IDFC First Bank Test Series against South Africa from November 22-26, 2025.
This marks a historic moment as it will be the first-ever Test match played in the entire Northeast region. The announcement has brought immense pride to Assam’s cricketing community, further solidifying the state’s position on the national cricketing map.
Expressing his joy, Devajit Lon Saikia, Hon’ble Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), played a key role in securing this prestigious opportunity for Assam. His dedication and efforts have been instrumental in bringing Test cricket to the Northeast for the first time.
