Highest revenue collection achieved this year: Transport Department

The Commissionerate of Transport, Assam has recorded a remarkable achievement of revenue collection in the current financial year.

GUWAHATI: The Commissionerate of Transport, Assam has recorded a remarkable achievement of revenue collection in the current financial year. This was revealed in the report of the Departmentally Related Standing Committee (DRSC) on Development (A) Department of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

According to the report, the Commissionerate of Transport has set the target of collecting Rs. 1500 cr of MV revenue out of which an amount of Rs. 1165.68 cr has already been collected through taxes, fees and fines up to February, 2023.

A comparative study shows that the revenue collection has increased by 38.95 % up to February this year. A revenue amount of Rs. 838.93 cr was collected in the financial year of 2021-22 (up to February 2022). As per sources, the revenue collection by the Commissionerate of Transport, Assam, was Rs. 546.65 cr in 2016-17, Rs. 676.32 cr in 2017-18, Rs. 737.55 cr in 2018-19, Rs. 874.64 cr in 2019-20, Rs. 738.82 cr in 2020-21, Rs. 1022.67 cr in 2021-22 and Rs. 1165.68 cr in 2022-23 (up to February).
