GUWAHATI: Sadou Assam Karma Parishad (SAKP) welcomed the Chief Minister of Assam’s proposed health scheme, Mukhya Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana (MMLSAY), for state government employees. The Parishad requested that the Chief Minister include all sections of Government employees under the scheme. In this regard, the SAKP wrote to the Chief Minister.

A steering committee meeting of SAKP was conducted on Sunday, where they discussed the MMLSAY. In the meeting, the Parishad said, “As per the Assam Medical Attendance Rules 2008, the state teachers and employees should be getting reimbursement, but still there were some problems and other objections. Keeping aside the problems and objections to the reimbursement under the rules, the MMLSAY is made in line with the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). So, the Parishad has thanked the health scheme, welcomed such a scheme, and requested to implement the scheme as soon as possible.”

The SAKP also requested the government include employees of local bodies and corporations, employees of casual, master roles, fixed pay, other labours and employees, and contractual teachers and employees.
