Include Kanaklata Barua in school curriculum: Guwahati girl to PM Narendra Modi

A girl student of class XII of Guwahati has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi urging him to include the brave life story of Kanaklata Barua in the school curriculum across India.

GUWAHATI: A girl student of class XII of Guwahati has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to include the brave life story of Kanaklata Barua in the school curriculum across India. Ashmita Paul, a 17-year-old girl from Pandu in Guwahati, sent the letter to the Prime Minister on October 7, 2022. The girl said in the letter, "Kindly include the brave story of Assam's Teenage Martyr Kanaklata Barua in the school curriculum across the country, which will encourage the young citizens of India to participate in nation-building."

Ashmita Paul, a martial arts athlete and international medal winner in karate, wrote a book titled 'Kanaklata Barua - The Forgotten Teenager Martyr of Assam in English to promote her brave story among young boys and girls across the country.
