GUWAHATI: The 10-days induction training for the newly recruited junior engineers from all the divisions of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) concluded in the city on Friday.
The training was organized by WSSO, PHED in collaboration with UNICEF.
Many distinguished resource persons experienced in the field of water supply, sanitation and other related fields from various departments delivered lectures on topics which included technical as well as non-technical subjects. PHED Minister Rihon Daimari, along with Chief Engineer (Sanitation) Lakheswar Saikia and Director WSSO Lawrence Ingti were present during the valedictory session.
Daimari while speaking on the occasion emphasized on the importance of field experience and requested all the junior engineers to visit their respective site to understand the current situation and need of the time. He expressed his desire to see the newly recruited engineers as expert in both technical as well as non-technical fields. “The target set to achieve “Har Ghar Nal ka Jal” by 2024 by the Centre is a big challenge for us. We have to meet the challenge successfully,” Daimari said.
