GUWAHATI: In a surprising development, an inmate reportedly hanged himself to death in the Jalukbari Police Station, coming under the West Police District of the Guwahati Police Commissionerate. The person was identified as Jeherul Islam. He was arrested at night by the Jalukbari Police on charges of theft. Senior officials of the Assam Police visited the police station along with a magistrate to proceed with the legal procedure.
