GUWAHATI: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) was celebrated at Montfort School Guwahati on Saturday.
According to a press release, Brother S Maria Soosai, the Principal of Montfort School, highlighted the theme of the day for the year 2022, 'Transformative solutions for inclusive development: The role of innovation in fuelling and accessible and equitable world'.
The day was marked with colourful cultural items by the students of Montfort School. Partha Sarathi Dutta shared his experience with Montfort School as his ward is also a special student of Montfort School. After the cultural events, there were sports events organized for the special children, who participated and bagged prizes. The children were warmly welcomed, and given gifts and refreshments. It may be mentioned Montfort school, Guwahati was started on January 20, 1996 and in the year2003 the school started imparting education and training to children with disabilities. At present there are 110 students with disabilities in the school who attend the regular curriculum.
