GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (Metro) district administration on Friday clarified that it has not issued any directive making it mandatory for bars and hotels operating round the clock in Guwahati to provide pick-up and drop-off services to their customers.
The clarification came after reports surfaced claiming that such an order had been issued following a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee.
Refuting the reports, the district administration stated that no such order or decision had been taken regarding the mandatory provision of pick-up and drop-off services by 24x7 bars and hotels in the city.
“This is to clarify that no such order or decision has been taken by the District Administration, Kamrup (Metro), in this regard,” the administration said in an official statement.
The clarification aims to dispel confusion among hotel and bar operators, as well as the public, over the reported directive.
