Mobility India, observed the International Day of PwDs by organizing training programmes on scientific methods of vegetable cultivation and fish rearing for persons with disabilities

GUWAHATI: Mobility India (a national-level organization working in the fields of disability and development since 1994), observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by organizing training programmes on scientific methods of vegetable cultivation and fish rearing for persons with disabilities. World-class quality vegetable and fish seeds were provided after the training.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) is observed every year on 3rd December to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development.

Robi Kishore Dutta, the in-charge of MI's Northeast operations said that since 2017 they have been working for persons with disabilities in the major areas of health, education and livelihood. Basically, MI is known at the national and international levels for assistive technology i.e. prostheses, orthoses, customized wheelchairs and walking aids. MI promotes access to physical rehabilitation & assistive technology irrespective of service users' financial condition. MI has also collaborated with SSA (Dimoria Block) to promote inclusive education and has organized several pieces of training for teachers and school management committee members on the IE component.

Robi underscored that persons with disabilities should have equal access to all opportunities and services.
