Moran community leaders join BJP in Guwahati city

Inspired by the development under the BJP government in the state as well as the Centre, several members of the Moran Autonomous Council have decided to join the party, said a statement issued by the party.

GUWAHATI: Inspired by the development under the BJP government in the state as well as the Centre, several members of the Moran Autonomous Council have decided to join the party, said a statement issued by the party.

Several members including chairman Dharmendra Neog, vice chairman Tarun Madhab Moran, former president of the All Moran Students Union and deputy CEM Debeshwar Moran, former general secretary of Moran Mohila Jatiya Parishad Hema Baruah and several other members were among the people joining the party officially on Wednesday. They joined the party formally at an event organised in the party head office in the presence of party state president Bhabesh Kalita.

State advisor Jayanta Kumar Das, General Secretary Pulock Gohain, MLA Bolin Chetia, and several other members of the party were present for the joining event. Speaking on the occasion Bhabesh Kalita welcomed the new members to the party and mentioned the rapid development that has taken place in recent times under the double-engine government in the state. He also mentioned that the people of the state have accepted the party with open arms and these recent joining only strengthens the party in upper Assam.

Bhabesh Kalita also said that the Congress party in the state has now turned into demonetised notes and that the party, which had been in power in the country for the longest period of time, committed atrocities against the citizens. To break free from them, the public removed the Congress and brought the Bharatiya Janata Party to power. He added that the development of the country started when Atal Bihari Vajpayee became the Prime Minister and increased manifold with Narendra Modi and similarly, Assam is developing by leaps and bounds with Himanta Biswa Sarma at the helm.
