GUWAHATI: The State Government has decided not to further extend services of teachers who have completed five years as Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCCs) in various districts.
The Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA) has written to all District Mission Coordinators and directed them to release CRCCs of their respective districts who have completed service of five years or above in that post. The District Mission Coordinators have been also asked to issue release orders to revert the CRCCs to the schools where they were originally appointed as teachers. The District Mission Coordinators have been further asked to observe all necessary formalities, including clearing of financial liabilities etc.
The letter also stipulated that all documents, furniture etc., must be handed over to the Head Teacher/Principal of the Cluster Headquarter school by the CRCCs concerned. The tablet must be handed over to Management Information System (MIS) Cell of the District Mission Office concerned.
August 10 next has been fixed as the last date for submission of the lists of released CRCCs of each district in the prescribed format.
It may be mentioned that one CRCC is appointed against 10-12 schools and above 4,000 teachers as working as CRCCs across the State at present. Most of them have served for over five years. Since the CRCCs carry out non-teaching duties, various teachers' bodies have been opposing this system of using teachers for clerical work. The teachers' bodies have been suggesting that instead of deputing teachers as CRCCs, separate appointment should be made to fill up the posts.
