National Seminar on Foreign Trade and Exim Policy held in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The national seminar on “Foreign Trade and Exim Policy” was organized recently at Guwahati by the MSME- Development Institute, Guwahati in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). The objectives of organizing the seminar were to lay emphasis on the points of Foreign Trade Policy according to each sector and to provide knowledge on facilities and incentives given to Indian exporters and relevance of each document and procedure to submit to take advantage of the allowances in the schemes of EXIM Policy. The seminar was attended by officials from the MSME-DI Guwahati, DGFT, Customs, Financial Institutions and around 100 entrepreneurs belonging mainly from Assam followed by Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.

The Chief Guest of the event was the Governor of Assam, Prof Jagdish Mukhi. In his inaugural address, Prof Jagdish Mukhi, commended the work done by the MSME-DI Guwahati and PHD Chamber for organizing the seminar with an impressive participation from the entrepreneurs. He also stated that the importance of the program has been enhanced in the context of Govt. of India’s Act East Policy and emergence of Guwahati as the gateway to the South-East Asian Countries, a press release stated.
