GUWAHATI: The Chairperson of the National Commission for the Backward Classes (NCBC), Hansraj Gangaram, will be on an official visit to Guwahati on November 10 and 11. Secretary Rajeev Ranjan and Advisor Rajesh Kumar will also be accompanying the NCBC Chairperson on his Guwahati visit.
Hansraj Gangaram will attend a review meeting on the reservation of OBC and welfare measures with senior officials from Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim. This meeting will be held at the State Guest House in Guwahati on Friday. The Chief Secretaries of Assam, Manipur, and Sikkim will attend this meeting. DGP Assam, the Commissioners of Health of the Government of Assam and Manipur, the Secretary of Health of Sikkim, and the Secretaries for the State Commission for Backward Classes of Assam, Sikkim, and Manipur will also participate.
The Chairperson will also take part in a review meeting on OBC reservation and welfare measures with the CMD of Oil India Limited, the MD of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, and the Head of Project, ONGC projects and offices located in the State of Assam (through the CMD and CEO of ONGC), the Executive Director of Guwahati Refineries (IOCL), and the Chief General Manager of Digboi Refineries (IOCL).
He will take part in another review meeting on the same day with the CMD of North Eastern Coalfield Limited, the CMD of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited, and the General Manager of NHPC Loktak, Manipur, and NIT Silchar at the State Guest House. On November 11, 2023, the Chairperson of NCBC will visit the Maa Kamakhya Devi temple before departing for Delhi.
