GUWAHATI: Rescuers of first Battalion NDRF Guwahati (Assam) under the supervision of Commandant Randhir Singh Gill carried out a sanitization drive at the Sukhleswar Temple, Umananda Temple and Hari Sabha Temple at Paltan Bazar, Guwahati on Saturday. The teams sprayed disinfectants consisting of Sodium Hypochlorite. The NDRF medical team carried out the thermal screening of the temple priests and distributed masks among them.
The rescuers distributed food, masks and biscuit packets to more than 2,200 needy people at various places i.e Jahajghat Uzan Bazar in Kamrup (Metro) and Katamura, Nizsundry, Bargaon, Changsari, Kuldung, Hirapara, Dhantala Bijoynagar villages of Kamrup (Rural). The NDRF medical team also carried out thermal screening at Jahajghat Uzan Bazar. The rescuers distributed food to these people in collaboration of Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and Amrit Bhog Bhandara Guwahati. During the programme NDRF rescuers emphasized on the norms of social distancing, hand washing, sanitization and lockdown to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
