NE-IAS Holds Discussion ‘Manthan’ at Assam State Museum

GUWAHATI: A monthly intellectual discussion ‘Manthan’ was conducted by North East Institute of Advanced Studies (NE-IAS), held a discussion on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti on the topic ‘Follow the Mahatma: Kanaklata’s March to Freedom’ at Assam State Museum here on Tuesday. Retired professor of History from Dibrugarh University Shiela Bora delivered a detailed insight into the life and journey of pioneering freedom fighter Kanaklata Baruah. Her speech introduced a way to learn not only about the leader but about freedom in truest sense and the spirit of confidence. Keshab Das, the founder of NE- IAS stressed the requirement of an environment so that people get encouraged to preserve the historical information and bring out a wider platform for other people to know about it. The discussion witnessed the presence of prominent guests and students from across different quarters of the city.
