'New India Chaupal', an initiative by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to draw attention to the benefits of various Central Government Schemes

Guwahati: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India had organized New India Chaupal to draw attention to the benefits of various central government schemes by highlighting success stories and thereby encouraging more and more people to participate in the various schemes for the socio-economic development of the masses.

Approximately 8000 such events are being organised in 318 districts across the country between February and March 2019.

During the event, few beneficiaries of various government schemes will be felicitated and they will also share their success story. Entertainment and engagement activities such as Nukkad Natak, performances by local artists, a lucky draw and a drawing competition are also being organised.

The idea behind organising New India Chaupal is to communicate information and educate people about various government schemes and encourage them to enrol themselves.

In Guwahati, the 'New India Chaupal' programme was conducted at Rukmininagar area under the aegis of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Guwahati unit. Chief Editor Kuldeep Singh had graced the event as a chief guest today.
