GUWAHATI: An NGO named Raahein has completed two years of service to the people of the region by organizing multiple social events including blood donation camps, interactive sessions on social issues, seminars on women empowerment, health checkup camps etc. Raahein now has volunteers from multiple educational institutions across the state.
The founder of the organization mentioned that the idea started when a person seeking help for treatment for a failed kidney just after the Covid Pandemic. Dipraj Chakrabarty also mentioned that he and his family helped the person to their full capacity and even reached out to some of his friends for the same reason. This led to the formation of a small group, which collected funds in order to help people, especially women and children of the region, through various initiatives.
The NGO was formed thereafter as the public wanted to donate money, but were sceptic because of fraud and identity became necessary. An organisation that started with five people and a cleanliness drive in the Nabagraha Temple of Guwahati has reached more than 200 volunteers across the state.
