North East Book Fair concludes at Guwahati

GUWAHATI: This year, record number of books worth around Rs 4 crore was sold at the 20th North East Book Fair which was organized at the Assam Engineering Institute (AEI) playground, Guwahati from November 9.

Talking to The Sentinel, All Assam Publishers and Book Sellers Association (AAPBSA) general secretary Dhiraj Goswami said that as many as 85 books, most of which were of Poems were launched during the Book fair. Stating that the organizer witnessed a selling of books worth Rs 2.5 crore last year, Goswami said, “This year we have recorded footfalls of around 3 lakhs. This has led to the increase in the volume of selling.” He added that books on fiction mostly attracted the book lovers.
