GUWAHATI: The Krisi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kamrup on Tuesday took a step ahead of farm mechanization by demonstrating Mini Combine harvester which is a versatile machine designed to efficiently harvest a crop. The name derives from its combining three separate harvesting operations—reaping, threshing, and winnowing into a single process. More than 50 farmers participated in the program. Scientists from International Rice Research Institute, Guwahati were also present during the event. Dr Dhirendra Nath Kalita, Head of KVK Kamrup addressed the farmers and briefed them about the mini combine harvester.
