GUWAHATI: A section of youths observed a protest programme in front of the office of Assam's Director General of Police (DGP), alleging that they are being deprived of the opportunity to sit for the forthcoming written examination for recruitment of constables, even though they have passed the physical test.
The protestors said that while the relevant advertisement had mentioned that five prospective candidates would be invited to sit for the written examination against each post, the reality is that only two candidates are being called for the written examination. This has resulted in the inflation of the cut-off marks and consequent deprivation of many candidates.
