GUWAHATI: A review meeting on the status and preparedness of NEP-2020 implementation in all State universities and all colleges was held in the Assam Administrative Staff College on Tuesday.
State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu, in the presence of Adviser, Education, Prof. (Dr.) Nani Gopal Mahanta, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Biswaranjan Samal, and other officials of Higher Education department, attended the meeting.
The meeting was attended by the Vice-Chancellors, Academic Registrars and NEP Coordinators of all state Universities of Assam. Additionally, Principals, Academic Deans and NEP Coordinators of all autonomous colleges were also invited for the meeting. They presented their implementation plan and showed how their NEP implementation plan will be rolled out from next academic session. The Adviser had set the agenda for the meeting and accordingly deliberated upon crucial issues to which the participating institutions had shown a positive stance and welcomed the decisions of the government.
The team from the Ministry of Education, Government of India presented the Samarth e-Gov portal, for optimal implementation of NEP-2020. The Education Minister recommended onboarding of all State HEIs in the portal for seamless technological integration in educational institutions. The universities and colleges alike have shown proactiveness and cooperative approach towards the portal and overall towards timely structured NEP-2020 implementation in letter and spirit, stated a press release.
