GUWAHATI: The District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) of the Kamrup (metro) district has ordered all the government, provincialized and private schools of the district not to conduct examinations from June 21 to June 27 in view of the Ambubachi festival in the city.
This order came after a meeting was conducted in the DC office to discuss the preparedness for the festival. Representatives from various departments, including the police, public health engineering, transport, etc. took part in this meeting. Mentioning the traffic problem in the region, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dhrubajyoti Hazarika added that the administration is preparing to host this year’s festival in a completely organized and hassle-free way and that the work has already been divided among the departments to ensure the same.
