Science exhibition, book fair organized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A District Level Science Exhibition and Book Fair was recently organized in the Bengali Higher Secondary School, Paltan Bazar, Guwahati under the Central Government’s scheme, ‘Samagra Siksha Abhiyan’, meant for overall development of the students and help them develop a scientific bent of mind. Noted educationist and the Vice Principal of Handique Girls College, Guwahati, Dr. Nirmala Medhi inaugurated the Science Exhibition. Dr. Krishna Kankar Pathak, Physics lecturer from Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati inaugurated the Book Fair.

Students from twenty-five schools participated in the book fair and exhibition resulting in a lot of discussions and questions among the students and teachers on various topics and subjects. The students, who participated in the exhibition, succeeded in drawing the attention of the visitors with their Science models, which they had prepared with creativity and a scientific zeal. Debate and extempore speech was also organsied as part of the day-long event. The day long programme came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony along with the vote of thanks by Nazrana Rahman Hazarika, Principal, Bengali Higher Secondary School.
