Sports meet for Divyang students at SAI Sports Complex in Guwahati

As many as 150 'Divyang' students exhibited their hidden talents in a day-long sports event on Sunday at the SAI Sports Complex at Paltan Bazar in Guwahati.

GUWAHATI: As many as 150 'Divyang' students exhibited their hidden talents in a day-long sports event on Sunday at the SAI Sports Complex at Paltan Bazar in Guwahati. 'Karunadhara, a non-government organization founded in 2011 with a unique aim to inspire and encourage the hidden talents among the 'Divyang' persons and students and to arrange for showcasing their talents in the fields of literature, culture, and sports, has organized this event. 'Divyang' students from different schools and non-government organisations, namely Sahayika, Asha School, Bal Bharati Public School, Ashadwip, Sneha Teertha, RTR Dream Home, Bhawri Devi Special School, Marias Public School, Saraswati Bagdhwani, and 'Asha Jyoti' of Sipajhar in Darrang district, took part.

Veteran sportsman Shankar Dutta Lahkar inaugurated this sports event in the presence of Pratul Chandra Phukan, President, Naba Jyoti Bhuyan, Secretary of 'Karunadhara', and other office bearers. The Assam Oil Division of Indian Oil Corporation donated an amount of 25,000 for the sports event, while the Superintendent of Police of Sonitpur and former Ranji player Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma gifted the jersey to all the participating students.
