Sports photo exhibition held at hotel Gateway Grandeur, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Gitika Talukdar, a senior sports journalist and photographer, took 50 exciting photos from the recent Qatar FIFA World Cup, Russia FIFA World Cup 2018, and Tokyo Olympics 2020, which were exhibited during the Sports Photo Exhibition powered by CEC, an educational institute in Northeast, on Saturday at hotel Gateway Grandeur on G.S. Road, Guwahati.

The photo exhibition was inaugurated by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan. The inaugural lamp was lit by the guests of honour: PJ Baruah, Executive Editor of the Assam Tribune; Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Information Commissioner, Government of Assam; IGP Hiren Nath; Amlan Bora, Chief Representative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands in India and Trade and Investment Commissioner; Special Guest Former Mr. India Bijeet Gogoi; and Special Guest CEO of the Byatikram Group, Dr. Soumen Bharatiya.

Singer Zubeen Garg visited the show and appreciated Gitika's work. He said that many young women in India should look up to Gitika as a role model. Former Mrs. World Arunima Dutta, senior cricketer Nasir GulKhan, President of Sepak Takraw Vishnu Nunisa, senior journalist Pranay Bordoloi, senior sports journalist Subodh Malla Baruah, Uday Borgohain, senior journalist Keshab Kalita, senior journalist of Janam Bhumi Ranjib Gogoi, Principal Photographer of the Hindu Ritu Raj Konwar, senior photographer of The Sentinel, Rajib Bhattacharya, and Bureau Chief of PTI, Durba Ghosh, also attended the occasion, stated press release.
