GUWAHATI: The Child and Mother Development Committee of the Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha Kamrup (M) District Unit has announced that they will be organizing Sishu Kalyan Divas. The one-day event will be organised on Sunday, September 10, at the Sankari Cultural Center in Rupnagar.
Children between the ages of 5 and 14 will be able to participate in the event. The organizers mentioned that the event would start with the hoisting of the flag in the morning. Traditional naam-prasanga will be organised at 9 a.m., followed by an introduction about the Guru by the president of the Kamrup (M) Unit, Hirendra Kumar Deka.
The participants will be introduced to literature, culture, and traditional games and competitions by Padadhikar of the Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha Bhabendra Nath Deka. They will be introduced to Borgeet, Kirtan, Bhagabat, Naam Gohosa, etc. in this session. A dress performance depicting characters including Lord Krishna, Srimanta Sankardev, Sri Sri Madhabdev, Kansha, Putna, Bhokot etc. will also be part of the event. The publicity secretary of the district unit, Rajen Bora, especially requested that the parents send their children dressed in the traditional attire of the community to take part in the event.
