State Bank of India to observe Vigilance Awareness Week-2022

State Bank of India (SBI), the largest commercial bank of the country, will observe Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 (VAW) from October 31 to November 6

GUWAHATI: State Bank of India (SBI), the largest commercial bank of the country, will observe Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 (VAW) from October 31 to November 6 next in terms of directives of the Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi along with various other Government Offices, PSUs, Banks etc.

This year's theme is 'Corruption Free India for a Developed Nation' (Bhrashtacharmukt Bharat- Bikshit Bharat). All the branches/offices of SBI have undertaken various activities to be performed during the VAW-2022 with zeal and enthusiasm to generate public awareness against corruption. As part of the programme, an Integrity Pledge will be taken by all the employees of SBI across the Circle on October 31 at 11:00 am.

The Chief General Manager, NE Circle, Arvind Kumar Singh will administer the pledge-taking ceremony at LHO, Guwahati, stated a press release.

To make the event more meaningful and attractive, an online quiz competition and essay competition in relevant topics amongst staff members of NE Circle will be organized. A guest speaker from the Anti-Corruption Cell/Police department will be invited at LHO to deliver a speech on the importance of vigilance awareness to eradicate corruption from all walks of life. A short speech competition was already conducted amongst the pupils of SBOA Public School, Guwahati on October 28. During the VAW-22, various activities such as quiz competition, walkathon, gram sabha, grievance redressal camps etc., will be organized by Administrative Offices, Regional Business Offices and Branches across the Circle.

During the week-long programme, SBI, LHO, Guwahati along with other offices/Branches in the Circle will display suitable messages via hoardings, banners and posters at prominent locations and distribute handouts/leaflets through newspapers. Radio jingles will be played during the week and awareness messages will be displayed on local TV channels to promote a culture of vigilance awareness among the general public.

To mark the occasion, the Vigilance Department at SBI, LHO will engage in various awareness programmes, connecting the large number of branches of NE Circle to highlight the importance of anti-corruption/preventive vigilance measures amongst the Branch Heads and other staff members. It is believed that these awareness programmes and various other anti-corruption measures undertaken/to be conducted by SBI as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 will go a long way to sensitize all and sundry about the importance of the event.
