GUWAHATI: In keeping with the recent trend, another tout was arrested at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Wednesday for taking Rs 3,000 as a bribe from the relatives of a patient on the pretext of providing various facilities.
According to police sources, the tout, identified as Ranjan Dutta of Nalbari, was produced in court on Thursday in connection with a case (149/2022) registered at the Bhangagarh Police Station and was remanded to judicial custody.
Dutta had been arrested twice earlier for similar activities, the sources added.
