GUWAHATI: Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) has demanded the Education Department stop the teacher rationalization process and complete the process for mutual transfer and transfer of teachers first.
Talking to The Sentinel, ASPTA secretary general Ratul Chandra Goswami said, "The process for mutual transfer of teachers and the process for rationalization of teachers cannot go side by side. These two processes contrast with each other. One process will hamper the other. Government should complete the transfer process and then start the process of rationalized distribution on teachers."
When asked for comment on the teacher rationalization process started in the Bongaigaon District, Goswami said, "As we know, the process for rationalization of teachers has not yet started on the ground. If the government wants to start the rationalization of teachers early, it should complete the posting of teachers first."
Goswami also said, "Instead of the Education Department, why should the district administration carry out the rationalization of teachers?"
