Two-day community seminar for C20 to be held at Madhabdeb University

A community seminar for C20 (civil-20) policy recommendations of the working group Diversity, Inclusion, and Mutual Respect will be organized on July 8 and 9 at Madhabdeb University, Narayanpur, Lakhimpur District, Assam.

 GUWAHATI: A community seminar for C20 (civil-20) policy recommendations of the working group Diversity, Inclusion, and Mutual Respect will be organized on July 8 and 9 at Madhabdeb University, Narayanpur, Lakhimpur District, Assam. The seminar is being jointly organized by Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture (VKIC) and Deori Chucheba Chengcha (Deori Sahitya Sabha) and is titled Traditional Systems of the Deori Community: Change and Continuity. Pallab Lochan Das, Member of Parliament, Tezpur constituency, will be gracing the seminar as the chief guest.

The seminars aim to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations through a holistic approach to development through culture. Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari have been bestowed with the responsibility of being the Institutional partners of the C20 (Civil 20) Engagement Group of the G20. Padmasree Nivedita Bhide, Vice President, and Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari are the steering committee members of C20. There are sixteen working groups out of which Kendra has been entrusted with the task of organising Policy dialogues (chaupals) and awareness programmes (samajshalas) across the country for policy recommendations on two themes, viz., Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and ‘Diversity, Inclusion, Mutual Respect. The Kendra’s research project, Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture,Guwahati (VKIC), is doing the same for the later theme, stated a press release.
