GUWAHATI: Garchuk police arrested two persons identified as Moinul Haque and Nazrul Islam from a hotel in Katahbari area along with fake gold in the shape of a boat from their possession. According to sources, police team raided the hotel and seized fake gold from the duos. They both were from Naoboisa in Lakhimapur district. They planned to sell the fake gold to a Bihar based businessman for Rs three lakh. The Garchuk police registered a case (35/2023 U/S 420/406IPC), in this regard.
