Guwahati: A male passenger was deboarded from a SpiceJet aircraft at the Guwahati airport on Friday for misbehaviour and later, he was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel.

The incident took place on Friday morning on Delhi-bound aircraft SG 8169 when the aircraft was on the runway.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the airline said that the passenger was deboarded because he was repeatedly getting up from his seat and creating ruckus.

"Efforts to pacify him went in vain and fellow passengers informed the crew that he was not ready to travel with the said passenger," the statement added.

"The aircraft was brought back to the enclosure where the airport security officials along with SpiceJet staff de-boarded the passenger and handed him over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)," the statement read further.

Later, the plane took off for Delhi. It was not immediately clear whether any action was taken against the rioting passenger or not.
