Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) General Secretary Ranjan Bora on Saturday writes to Election Commission of India complaining about holding of Examination/ Written Test for appointment in the Power Sector of Assam by Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), AEGCL, APGCL on April 28, 2019.

APCC also claimed that appointment to the post of Office-cum Field Assistants and Sahayaks is a violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

"We are being informed that by different sources that a large number of irregularities are being done while issuing Admit cards, denying a large number of candidates the chance of facing the examination at the behest of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. This is a clear instance of violation of the Model Code of Conduct by the BJP in the state of Assam," said Ranjan Bora in the letter.

It is to be noted that Model Code of Conduct continues to be applicable until the declaration of the results of the Lok Sabha Elections, i.e May 23, 2019.

Meanwhile, APCC had demanded appropriate action against the Power Department of Assam, APDCL authorities and BJP for violating MCC.
