GUWAHATI: A one-day training workshop on PGS-India Organic Certification (Participatory Guarantee System of India) was held at Krishi Niwas, Khanapara on Wednesday. The Assam Seed and Organic Certification Agency (ASOCA) organised this workshop for the benefit of the organic farmers of the state. During this workshop, many farmers who are into organic farming took part from all over Assam in which renowned scientist Dr Srinivasamurthy R from National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (NCONF), Ghaziabad conducted the training session. The additional chief secretary for the government of Assam and APC to the Agriculture Department, Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Director of ASOCA Mowsam Hazarika, Director of Horticulture Department of Assam Triranga Bharatiya Borah, Deputy Director, ASOCA Dr Jiten Kr. Das were some of the dignitaries attending this event.
