GUWAHATI, Aug 16: Former Left leader, social worker and Xatradhikar of Xorupatra Satra Suryakanta Mahanta died on August 15 at the age of 96. He was suffering from old age ailments over a couple of months. He died at his residence located at Hatichung Mouhar Jajori. His well-wishers and leaders of various organizations thronged his residence to express their grief on his death. His death has cast a pall of gloom in the locality.
