GUWAHATI: A youth named Dhrubajyoti Deka was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a room of the newly-opened Raj Palace Hotel in Hatigaon here on Wednesday.
According to police sources, Deka and two other youths had come to the hotel on Tuesday evening and a woman pimp brought three girls to spend the night with them. The group first partied at the bar and then each youth retired to separate rooms with a girl.
This morning, Deka was found in his room (No. 108), the sources said, adding that the three girls had left the hotel by that time.
The sources said that there were no signs of external injury on Deka's body.
Deka hailed from Dimu in the Kamrup district.
Al the three youths were employed in financial companies.
A case (No. 167/2022 u/s 302/34 of IPC) has been registered at the Hatigaon Police Station in this connection.
Meanwhile, the police have detained the deceased's friends Debaraj Chetri and Biki Kundu, along the hotel's manager Sahidul Islam.
